A can of spam is the single ingredient in this recipe, it does not get any easier than that people. It is a quick snack that can be ready to eat in a short period of time.

Easy Spam Recipe

Air frying is an incredible time saver because dishes cook so fast and you can be devouring one of your favorite foods in no time. This is great because it allows you to spend more time with your family and friends when they are visiting your home. This luncheon meat has a mild sweetness along with a saltiness that will excite your palate. It is a great picnic food; game day appetizer or backyard barbecue treat that will quickly become a favorite family recipe.

Ingredients:

Spam classic flavor (in a can)

Optional Additional Flavors: A drizzle of maple syrup, Chinese five spice, red pepper flakes, curry powder, Italian seasoning, cumin or chili powder.

How to Make Spam in the Air Fryer

Optional Favorite Dipping Sauce: Chimichurri sauce, hot sauce, ranch dressing, Dijon mustard, blue cheese, spicy garlic siracha, cilantro yogurt or marinara sauce. Kitchen Tips: Spray spam with olive oil spray or light spray if you are going to add any spices prior to cooking (this will help the spices adhere to the meat). Try to keep temperature stable the entire time to ensure spam is fully cooked and crispy. I make this recipe in my Cosori 5.8 qt. air fryer. Depending on your air fryer, size and wattages your cook time may need to be for an additional couple of minutes.

Are there different ways to eat this dish?

Of course! Spam is a versatile meat that you can use as breakfast meats mixed with scrambled eggs inside a burrito or crispy spam slices to make fried egg American cheese sandwiches. Cut spam pieces into bite size to crumble on a salad, to savor as crunchy snacks or cut slices into strips and make spam fries with shredded cheddar cheese. Layer a fresh coleslaw in between each slice of spam and serve as a whimsical appetizer.

Can I store leftover spam?

Yes, you can store leftover spam in your refrigerator for up to a week in an airtight container or resealable storage bag. When storing be sure to cool the canned meat prior. It is recommended not to freeze spam because it becomes unusable once it has thawed out.

What other flavors does spam come in?

This beloved food product comes in a number of flavor profiles that cover a huge range. For those who enjoy a huge blast of flavor the jalapeño, hot & spicy, black pepper and Portuguese sausage seasoning will be right up your tastebuds alley. For a smoky flavor without the heat try the bacon or hickory smoke cans. You cannot go wrong with the classic flavor because it tastes amazing and has so much potential to add extra seasoning too.

What is Spam made with?

It is surprising to know that spam is made with only 6 ingredients which are potato starch, water, salt, sugar, pork mixed with ham meat and sodium nitrite. Even though sodium nitrite is a preservative it is a small amount and helps maintain the meats’ freshness. It is not the super preservative canned meat that many people think it is.
