One of the most common things people say they miss on a keto diet is bananas. And while these are off limits even in small amounts, there’s a trick I like to use to re-create all the banana baked goods I used to love – banana bread, banana muffins, sugar-free banana pudding, and now, keto banana pancakes. Not only are the almond flour banana pancakes made with my healthy (and new!) Wholesome Yum Keto Pancake Mix and major banana flavor (but no actual bananas), but they won’t leave you hungry 10 minutes later like most high-sugar pancake meals. This mix is based on my super popular keto pancake recipe, which has hundreds of five-star reviews, so you already know it will be good. 😉 I’ve perfected it to make fluffy, delicious classic pancakes – in just 15 minutes and with only 4 grams net carbs in a generous serving (5 pancakes). And with the easy recipe below, you can effortlessly turn the mix into sweet and nutty low carb banana pancakes!

How To Make Keto Banana Pancakes

This almond flour banana pancake recipe comes together quickly when we use the Wholesome Yum Keto Pancake Mix!

Preheat. Oil a non-stick skillet or pancake griddle and preheat for a few minutes. Mix. In a large bowl, whisk together Wholesome Yum Keto Pancake Mix, eggs, keto milk of your choice, oil, and banana extract until smooth. Use a spatula to fold in chopped walnuts.

Cook. Pour batter onto griddle and cook for 60-90 seconds per side until golden brown. Serve with toppings of your choice – see notes below!

Are banana pancakes keto friendly?

Most banana pancakes are made with white flour, lots of white sugar, and bananas… definitely not keto! So, we needed our own low carb banana pancake recipe. This version is made with healthy Wholesome Yum Keto Pancake Mix, plus we’re using natural banana extract instead of bananas, for the same flavor without all the sugar.

How many carbs in banana pancakes?

Regular banana pancakes are quite high in carbs, but these keto friendly banana pancakes have only 4 grams net carbs per serving – and that’s a generous serving of 5 pancakes!

Can I make these without eggs?

Possibly. I haven’t tried it, but you might be able to use flax eggs in this recipe.

Can I use actual bananas?

No, using actual bananas would make these high in carbs and no longer keto friendly. They would also change the consistency of the batter, so I’m not sure it would even work. (The bananas shown in the photos are for garnish only.)

Storage Instructions For Banana Pancakes

Can you make them ahead?

Pancakes are best made fresh, and these are so easy that you can be eating them in just 15 minutes. But if you want to make them ahead or have leftovers, store them in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

Can you freeze almond flour banana pancakes?

Yes, you can freeze the pancakes for 2-3 months. Place pieces of parchment paper in between them, so they don’t stick together.

Reheating instructions:

I prefer to reheat already cooked pancakes in the oven, until hot, but the microwave will work as well. TIP: Spread a little butter on pancakes before reheating, to avoid drying them out.

Low Carb Banana Pancake Toppings

You’ll notice these photos have slices of banana on top – I couldn’t resist the visual because that is how they taste! But in reality, banana slices as toppings would not be keto friendly. Use these topping options instead:

Butter Wholesome Yum Keto Maple Syrup Keto Fruit – this would mostly be fresh berries Keto Whipped Cream Keto Raspberry Sauce Extra Walnuts – or any other keto nuts

What To Serve With Banana Pancakes

Healthy low carb banana pancakes don’t necessarily need anything else, but if you want something extra, here are some great pairings for breakfast or brunch:

Keto Butter Coffee – try it with sugar-free vanilla syrup! Oven-Baked Bacon Avocado Omelette Keto Egg Muffins

Wholesome Yum Keto Pancake Mix – This mix makes the BEST low carb pancakes! Made with real food ingredients and just 4g net carbs per serving. Banana Extract – This is the secret to banana pancakes without the carbs! Pancake Griddle – Cook everything from pancakes to bacon to keto grilled cheese perfectly.

Due to the way our nutrition calculator works, 5 grams of allulose were omitted from total carbs on the nutrition panel. Net carbs are correct. Actual banana slices shown in photos are for garnish, but would technically not be keto friendly.
